Anxiety

Anxiety

Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what’s to come. The first day of school, going to a job interview, giving a speech, problem at work or before making an important decision may cause most people to feel fearful and nervous. But if your feelings of anxiety are extreme, last for longer than six months, and are interfering with your life, you may have an anxiety disorder.

In this case the feeling of fear may be with you all the time, may cause you to stop doing things you enjoy, may prevent you from entering an elevator, crossing the street, or even leaving your home. If left untreated, the anxiety will keep getting worse and can affect anyone at any age. But with treatment, many people can manage those feelings and get back to a fulfilling life.

Depression

Depression

Depression is classified as a mood disorder. It may be described as feelings of sadness, loss of interest, or anger that interfere with a person’s everyday activities.

People experience depression in different ways. It may interfere with your daily work, resulting in lost time and bereavement or the loss of a job. It can also influence relationships and some chronic health conditions.

Major depression can cause a variety of symptoms. Some affect your mood, and others affect your body. Symptoms may also be ongoing, or come and go, can be experienced differently among men, women, and children.

Depression is an ongoing problem, not a passing one, can last for several weeks, months, or years. However, even the most severe depression is treatable. So, if your depression is keeping you from living the life you want to, don’t hesitate to seek help. From therapy to healing to healthy lifestyle changes, there are many different treatment options available.

Of course, just as no two people are affected by depression in exactly the same way, neither is there a “one size fits all” treatment to cure depression. What works for one person might not work for another. By becoming as informed as possible, though, you can find the treatments that can help you overcome depression, feel happy and hopeful again, and reclaim your life.

Relationships

Relationship Issues

In today’s world, it may seem like a healthy and happy relationship is nearly impossible to build or maintain. whether with family, friends, or partners - will have had a marked impact on our sense of self and how we relate to others. With all of the added stress of working in the digital age, the ubiquitous interruptions of social media, and the breakneck pace at which our lives are now lived, cultivating a good relationship with your spouse or loved one may seem like a herculean task.

But, it’s not impossible to enjoy a functional, positive, and mutually beneficial relationship. It might take a little bit of work from both partners, but the keys to success are at your fingertips. Whether you and your significant other are struggling to make time for one another, finding it difficult to communicate effectively, or dealing with something a little heavier than the average stressors of modern relationships, relationship therapy (also known as relationship counseling, couples counseling, and couples therapy) can be an important key to relationship success.

Stress Management

Stress Management

Stress is a natural feeling of not being able to cope with specific demands and events. However, stress can become a chronic condition if a person does not take steps to manage it.

Stress can be a motivator, and it can even be essential to survival. The body’s fight-or-flight mechanism tells a person when and how to respond to danger. However, when the body becomes triggered too easily, or there are too many stressors at one time, it can undermine a person’s mental and physical health and become harmful.

Stress is the body’s natural defence against predators and danger. It causes the body to flood with hormones that prepare its systems to evade or confront danger.

An individual who feels as though they do not have enough resources to cope will probably have a stronger reaction that could trigger health problems. Stressors affect individuals in different ways. However, if you're finding it very hard to cope with things going on in your life and are experiencing lots of signs of stress, there are treatments options available that could help.

Child / Parents Counselling

Child / Parents Counselling

The counselor can identify the underlying issues that are affecting the child’s overall health and well-being, so he/she can quickly receive the treatment he/she needs to feel better. The truth is many children are unable to fully process the intricacies that go together with the emotional and/or psychological issues they are experiencing, so counseling may be just what your child needs to work towards mental completeness.

Our aims to help children work through their emotions, so they can live normal healthy lives without the long-term effects of fear, confusion, anxiety, or trauma.

Basically, we treat any issues that cause children social or emotional suffering and/or any mental health condition that is affecting a child’s life. Our goal is to help your child identify and cope with any issue or issues they are experiencing in a healthy way.

Fear & Phobia Counselling

Fear & Phobia Counselling

When a person has a phobia, they experience an excessive fear about a specific thing. The source of that fear can be anything - a situation, person, or object. Most of the time, phobias are considered an irregular condition due to the lack of awareness. Hence, people avoid seeking help from medical professionals.

Several studies found that phobia is linked with the ‘amygdala’. It is a mass of grey matter in the brain that helps us feel and experience emotions. When the amygdala senses a threat or danger, it releases the "fight-or-flight" hormones which make the body and mind feel a surge in stress and energy levels.

To overcome a phobia, the safest way is to avail of the counseling options as soon as possible.
